Strategic Design comprises a conceptual framework for designing futures plus a series of essays on visions for the future in impact areas like mobility, smart operations, longevity and open governance, featuring some of the grounded work André Coutinho, Anderson Penha plus a network of global experts have developed with multiples organizations in Latin America. Inspired by sequential art the authors suggest a transdisciplinary approach by connecting design, concept arts, emerging technologies and sustainable business practices. The book invites the reader to understand how value is created and management has been influenced over the last decades by design and technology. They introduce a "movement" for framing (questions), exploring (trends), co-creating visions, territories and concepts then building an experimenting with prototypes. The chapter "hacking the business" challenges the mindset and behaviors required to push strategic design forward, followed by two appendixes one on designing new realities and another on sequential arts and disruption. The strategic design approach has been influencing "next" investments in innovation, venture building and transformation agendas currently connected to corporate purpose and positive impact goals. Conceptually strategic design integrates strategic foresight, design fiction, experimental design and future builder practices.
